Hello there...

It's been a while since I've posted any blogs. No excuses. Just haven't in a while. Had a good Thanksgiving in Minnesota. Too good maybe. Nothing 3 hours at the gym yesterday couldn't fix though;) Much thanks to my sisters for opening up their homes to everyone.

It was a great time. Of course my whole family was there, which can get pretty hectic at times. Needless to say, I was ready to come home at the end of the weekend, but it's always nice to see everyone together. Not too many opportunities for that.

This morning as I was helping Hanah get dressed I said, "Hanah, you have big feet! Are you gonna be a dancer someday?"
"No" she said. "
Then what are you going to be?" To which she replied,
"Just Hanah!"

That'll do Hanah. That'll do.

I savor those moments when my children pull things into perspective for me.

I don't know what I'd do without them!

You know that I could use somebody....someone like you

Friday?

So. Friday is here. Nothing new. Another Friday come...another Friday gone. The weeks are starting to mesh together. No real separation. Man I need a vacation.

So. Hear me out. Driving down the street to work. Large street. Light traffic. Four lanes divided by a double-lined, one lane's width median.

You're driving along...when an emergency vehicle, let's say an ambulance, approachs you from the opposite direction. Do you slow down and pull over to the side?!? I think not. You are not in their way. Why would you yield?! Now if we were on a 2-way street with no median, I do believe I would yield. I just don't see the neccesity under the above described circumstances.

Along the same lines, if a school bus has stopped on the opposite side of said street, must I stop? They do have the flashing retractable bidirectional stop sign thingy, but again, I don't see why it would require me to stop! Vent...take a deep breath...now I feel better:)

The only reason I make mention of these trivial subjects is because I experience the above scenarios quite often on the way to work on the morning. Was just thinking that I'd get some other peoples' take on it. Let me know what you think:)

the words we use sometimes are misconstrued...
i won't guess what's coming next

On this day

Fallen brother...
A child like gaze through the misty haze...
Not knowing what lies ahead.

Thoughts of home...
of football games, the girl's whose name you no longer remember.
Oh...but that face...those eyes.

Surrounded by fear.
Dusk drawing near.
The end, it seems, prolonged for days, weeks, months...

Morning breaks...
The cold soil beneath your feet...amongst the frost a single flower grows.
A shot rings out.

All is still.
Peace...rest.
Your journey has just begun.

Remember to show gratitude...the darkest night is nothing new.

8 is great!!!!

James' turned 8 this past Sunday! I can't believe how much he's grown! Before I know it he'll be taking driver's ed! Geez...

I got him an electric guitar/amp combo. A Fender squire mini...just small enough for his hands:) I hope he grows to enjoy music as much as his father does. He definitely seems to have an aptitude for it. He's already been messing around on it and I wouldn't be surprised if he figures alot of it out by himself. Either way, I hope to start him on guitar lessons here soon.

I'm at Granny's Waffle House right now with James and Hanah. We ran out of eggs at the house:(

James and Hanah got the chocolate chip silver dollar pancakes. Of course. I got the corned beef hash, egg over medium, whole wheat toast. Breakfast of champions!

Gonna be another long day. Doing patient screenings at Wal-mart and then seeing patients in the office. Looking forward to the weekend already! That's silly bad of me...just gonna make the week seem longer!

I knew the great weather that we were having wouldn't last. I can smell winter around the corner...

One wing was never meant to fly...

Ready for the weekend

Well, another week come and gone. "Ko-in ya no gotoshi". Japanese for "time flies (like an arrow)". And how true it is. October was a blur! Winter is just around the corner. Some of my friends in other parts of the world have already had their first taste of snow!

I'm hoping for a mild winter here in the Chicago suburbs. Man do I need AWD!!! For those of you that have not had the fortunate opportunity of experiencing such, winter in Chicago sucks! I can handle a couple months, but not 4+ like last year!

Have to work tommorow for a few hours then it's off to Michigan for James' birthday. Going to pick up his present today! He's gonna love it...I hope:)

Don't change your plans for me...I won't move to LA...

Not too proud to brag

Or was that "beg"? Oh well...James got an award at school for having the best red ribbon week poster! I guess red ribbon week is like a "stay off drugs!" reminder week for the kids and James made a poster that won 1st place! I've got to see this thing. I'll try to track it down so I can post a picture of it.

Some of Hanah's memorable quotes of the morning...

"It's a beautiful day daddy! Wake up!"
"Where's your happy face daddy?"
"How was your nap (she meant sleep)?"

She just never stops! She will forever serve as a constant source of joy in my life:) Until she becomes a teenager of course;)

Going to AT&T corporate offices today for a health fair. Hoping to pull in some good numbers! Time to bring my A-game!

You got one good trick...and you're hanging on...you're hanging on...

Back to reality

Well, the kids are back and it's nice to be able to fall back into the same daily routine. Something about having set actions throughout the day really appeals to me. Especially when everything goes smooth. I've always thought that I would thrive in a military environment. I would swiftly rise through the ranks and find great worth in the sense of accomplishment. Much like the satisaction that my sister Ramona feels after leveling up on Mafia Wars! Just don't send me to the battle field. My friends from school would tell you that I'd be the first to die. True maybe, but I'd go down in a blaze of glory!

Yeah, as you can tell, I haven't lost my spontaneity;) I'm still known to break into song and dance at the drop of a hat:) Yesterday in the office I busted out a cartwheel in the middle of the PT room just to see if I could do it! One of my patients, who happens to be a gymnast, said that I needed more extention:( I got it down by the third try. Nice to know I still got it in me. What exactly "it" is, I'm not sure!

Going to AT&T corporate offices today to give a lecture on nutrition. Should go well...

Good morning son...I am a bird...wearing a brown polyester shirt...
